Marcus Bleecker is an award-winning filmmaker, writer,
director, and musician whose work is defined by authentic storytelling —
inspiring, enlightening, and deeply human. His debut feature
Mississippi Scholar, which he co-wrote and directed,
won Best Feature Film at the Beverly Hills Film Festival 2024, Best
Narrative Feature at the Kansas City Film Festival International 2025,
and the President's Spotlight Award for Best Director at Gasparilla
International Film Festival 2025.
He has received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding
Cinematography and worked on the Peabody Award–winning
Netflix series Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj. A Berklee College of Music
scholarship recipient and University of Wisconsin–Madison graduate, Marcus
performs regularly with the John Popper Project on Relix Records.
